Convenience stores, American Red Cross partner on relief programs

The American Red Cross and NACS, the association representing the nation’s 154,000-plus convenience stores, announced a partnership to advance disaster relief programs for NACS member companies. The groups are focusing on developing resources to facilitate donation collection by convenience store companies nationwide and encourage volunteer assistance programs for Red Cross volunteers around specific local or national events. Convenience stores contribute nearly $1 billion a year to charitable organizations. The announcement of the partnership is aligned with the Atlantic hurricane season, which began June 1.
