Snacking as a trend is only getting stronger as more busy Americans find that today’s “convenience products” now offer healthy ingredients, fun flavor profiles, portion control and innovative twists on the classics. In fact, once driven by demand from Millennials, snacks are now purchases seen on every generation’s shopping list. However, each generation looks for different criteria in their snacks.

Millennials are looking for indulgences, such as ice cream and other frozen desserts, brownies, cakes and pies. But they’re still craving those salty snacks, including nuts, dried fruit, salsas and dips. Gen Xers, meanwhile, are increasingly seeking those healthy and nutritious snacks, such as nutrientpacked snack bars and energy bars.
